Have you seen Jesus, my Lord?

This is not an original poem. I'm not sure who the author is but the lyrics are beautiful. Feel free to enlighten me if you know. Otherwise, enjoy.

HAVE YOU SEEN JESUS, MY LORD?

1)Have you ever stood at the ocean

With the white foam at your feet;

Felt the endless thundering motion?

Then I say, you’ve seen Jesus my Lord.

Have you seen Jesus, my Lord?

He’s here in plain view.

Take a look, open your eyes – He’s here in this room.

2)Have you ever stood at the sunset

With the sky mellowing red,

Seen the clouds suspended like feathers?

Then I say, you’ve seen Jesus my Lord.

Have you seen Jesus, my Lord?

He’s here in plain view.

Take a look, open your eyes – He’s longing for you.

3)Have you ever held a new baby

In your arms, holy and pure;

Marvelled at his tiny perfection?

Then I say, you’ve seen Jesus my Lord.

Have you seen Jesus, my Lord?

He’s here in plain view.

Take a look, open your eyes – each day He is new.

4)Have you ever stood in the family

With the Lord there in your midst;

Seen the face of Christ on each other?

Then I say, you’ve seen Jesus my Lord.

Have you seen Jesus, my Lord?

He’s here in plain view.

Take a look, open your eyes – He’s living in you. He’s living in you.

  1. Thanks brother for reminding me. That is one of my favorite songs. The lyrics are alive and refreshing. I have stood in the midst of the Family, a truly refreshing place to be and the longing of my heart.

    • Bill,

      It is indeed a refreshing place to be. Hope you are doing well, brother.

        Josh, here is a link to the original music written by John Fischer. The song was written in 1970 just prior to the Jesus movement. I first heard it a a Christian retreat (Koinonia) that sprang out of the Catholic Corsillo. As with our Lord, the song is still alive and refreshing. I like the lyrics you shared. The lyrics we have are a little different than yours, so I think I will share them with the body here.

        I am doing well brother, thanks. Blessings to you and your family.
